Two people were transported to the hospital following a five-car accident Friday afternoon on Interstate 5 at Via de la Valle in Del Mar.
The accident started just before 1 p.m. when one car rear-ended another car at a high rate of speed, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said.
The collision led to a five-car crash with one car overturned, according to the CHP.
One lane of I-5 was blocked. CHP lifted Sig Alert for the area at 3:41 p.m.
CHP said traffic is still heavy in the area due to the San Diego County Fair.
