Ray's Employees Granted Immunity

Prosecutors granted immunity to two employees of motivational speaker James Arthur Ray, who faces manslaughter charges stemming from a sweat lodge ceremony he led in northern Arizona last year.

Authorities interviewed Megan and Josh Fredrickson in mid-January on a condition that anything they said would not be used against them. The couple went to work for Ray in 2005 at his Carlsbad, Calif.-based company - James Ray International - and had attended the latest sweat lodge ceremony he held near Sedona in October.

Ray has pleaded not guilty to three counts of manslaughter. He is being held in a Yavapai County, Ariz., jail on a $5 million bond. Documents released Friday in the case revealed the granting of immunity.
