A man suspected of being under the influence of alcohol was seriously injured after he fell off his motorized scooter in Rancho Penasquitos early Saturday morning.
San Diego police said the 38-year-old man was riding his scooter in the 12600 block of Darkwood Road just after 2:30 a.m. when, for unknown reasons, he fell off.
He hit the ground and suffered a serious head injury. He was taken to a local hospital.
The accident is under investigation but police said it appears alcohol was a factor.
No one else was injured. The man’s current condition is unknown.
