Missing Chula Vista Girl Found Safe

A 13-year-old Chula Vista girl missing since Thursday has been found safely by authorities, police confirmed early Friday morning.

Darnesha Bey didn't show up to school Thursday and was last seen at 8 a.m. Thursday near the E Street Trolley Station, on her way to Chula Vista Middle School.

Police believe Darnesha may have been on Parkway Plaza in La Mesa around 11:30 a.m.

The possible runaway was described as 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds with braided black hair and brown eyes, according to the missing person bulletin. She was wearing a gray “California” sweater, blue pants and a purple backpack, possibly with a red sweater and gray sweatpants inside.

Police did not provide specific details about where Darnesha was found. That information is not typically disclosed by officials handling missing persons cases. However, police did say the teen was in the process of being reunited with her family.
