A pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train near Bay Park Sunday, sheriffs confirmed.
According to authorities, the collision happened around 11:20 a.m. just before the Old Town Amtrak stop.
When deputies arrived, they found a man underneath the halted train. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Amtrak train service was temporarily shut down both ways as deputies investigated the incident, dispatchers said.
No further information has been released.
