The apartments and condos on Aspect Drive were affected by the gas line break reported just before 9 a.m.

San Diego Gas and Electric officials said the two-inch gas line was ruptured by a third party contractor operating a backhoe.

The leak was stopped before 11 a.m. and service was restored at the building at around 4:30 p.m.
