Marine Arrested For Deadly Crash

A Marine has been arrested for investigation of driving under the influence and manslaughter after he allegedly slammed his car into another driver and killed him.

The California Highway Patrol says Quintin Garza, 21, of Oceanside is suspected of speeding his sedan at a sharp right turn early Thursday, causing the vehicle to go off the road and strike an SUV that went off the same road moments earlier.

The driver of the SUV, a 29-year-old San Marcos man, was killed.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, CHP Sgt. Tom Greenstone said. He says speed and alcohol may have been factors in both accidents.
