San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded to an emergency on Cowles Mountain Monday morning.
Just after 11 a.m., they received a call about an injured hiker about halfway up the trail.
Aerial pictures showed crews treating the hiker for what appeared to be a leg injury. The patient was then lifted into a medical helicopter.
The helicopter landed nearby, and the hiker was taken to an ambulance in a stretcher.
There is no word on the extent of the hiker’s injury, but the person appeared to be alert.
The Cowles Mountain Trail is located within Mission Trails Regional Park.
