San Diegans have an opportunity to support a charitable cause and get a healthy dose of exercise  Sunday.

The Omni San Diego Hotel and the American Lung Association have partnered together to host the 2011 Fight For Air Climb. San Diego Chargers linebacker, Larry English, is the honorary chair of the fundraising event to fight lung disease.

The Fight For Air Climb will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Omni Hotel. Participants will walk or stride up hundreds of stairs to reach the 31st floor of the hotel.

Along with the general public, local personalities, athletes, firefighters and lifeguards will also participate. The climb will be followed by a festival in the Omni’s ballroom with food, drinks, entertainment and music from MAGIC 92.5.

The registration fee is $25 and participants are asked to raise $100. The proceeds will go to the American Lung Association and will support research, education, and advocacy.
