A car driving on Interstate 5 Thursday morning flew off the freeway and landed on an Old Town surface street, authorities said.
Medics were requested for the driver of the car, who landed on Jefferson St. at about 6:45 a.m. Thursday.
The driver was transported to the UCSD Medical Center with moderate to major injuries, according to the San Diego Fire Department.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
