A SigAlert was issued for Interstate 5 at the Old Town exit Friday due to a four-car crash that left two people injured, the California Highway Patrol said.
CHP said two people were trapped in the crash that happened just after 10 a.m.
Medics transported two people to UC San Diego Medical Center with critical injuries, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesperson Monica Munoz said.
A SigAlert was issued at about 10:15 a.m. and was expected to last about an hour, CHP said.
