Sick Girl's Dream Comes True

A 3-year-old girl from Carlsbad with a life-threatening form of cancer had her wish come true on Friday.

"We've been waiting for over a year to do this," said Terra Baron, who is 3-year-old Finley's mom. "This has been, really, the only thing in her life that she's wanted to do."

Finley will be joined -- by 42 other children from across America with life-threatening conditions -- on a trip to Orlando to Disney World. The trips are being made possible by several organizations, including the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Once the children are in Orlando, the festivities will include a party with the other families and trips to several theme parks.

Finley's mom said the Wish Flight helped them get through the treatments.

"We've been through a really, really tough year, and when we found out we were going to have a wish and her wish was to go Disney World, it gave us something to look forward to, and it really helped us get through her treatments," Terra said.

Finley has finished her treatments but will be checked every three months. The girl's mom said her daughter is most excited about meeting Snow White.
