There was a sense of accomplishment, and hope as 4,300 walkers finished the Breast Cancer 3 Day at Petco Park Sunday.
They walk for those who can't -- to celebrate the survivors and in honor of the courage and strong spirit of anyone affected by breast cancer.
The 60-mile walk raised well over ten million dollars for breast cancer research. That made all those blisters worth it.
I walked in the 3 Day for the fourth time, and have the same feeling when I cross the finish line. A feeling that some day there will be a world without breast cancer. A lot of us will keep walking until they find a cure.
The Breast Cancer 3-Day takes place in 15 regions across the country with 85% of the money raised going to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization. The rest goes to the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.
