San Diego has its share of halloween events with Monster Bash taking over the streets of the Gaslamp and Heaven and Hell at Town and Country, but let's talk music. I couldn't be more excited to see the return of Blind Pilot, whose latest effort is both hopeful and heartbreaking because of emotional loss for frontman Israel Nebeker. Unfortunately, this show is sold out, but you can still get your fill of awesome shows with M83 returning to SOMA, which apparently serves beer now -- something nobody ever expected. Papa is at the Hideout and Sweater Beats at Soda Bar, so you could theoretically make a night of going between the two shows, or if you want to feel that Halloween vibe, check out music from Tim Burton films at Symphony Hall, or just dance your butt off to a Michael Jackson versus Prince tribute night at the Casbah. Any of these will certainly get you in the spirit of the night, or at least promise an awesome Saturday.
