Sounds Like San Diego: May 26

Foster the People are back in a big way at the Observatory North Park Friday

You're gonna hear everyone talking about Memorial Day weekend as the unofficial start to summer, but I've been in summer mode for weeks. Still, you can't complain about what an awesome weekend we have ahead of ourselves here in San Diego. At the Observatory, Foster the People return to the stage. Though they've not officially played the venue before, they played a private acoustic show back when it was North Park Theatre, and for me it solidified them as a legit band in it for the long haul. Here they are a few years later, still putting out catchy music, and this is going to be a very fun show where you can really lose yourself in your dorkiness. For the older crowds, Los Lonely Boys have been steadfast in their touring year after year, and they return to the Belly Up tonight. Casbah hosts another Freak Out which will bring out all the local cool kids, and Steve Poltz has been added to the songwriter's night at Java Joe's to make it a super extra-special night in Old Town. Whatever you choose, make it a great and safe weekend.
