Sounds Like San Diego: April 9

There are a few bands in recent history whose popularity skyrocketed almost overnight. It wasn't too long ago that Foster the People performed their first show in San Diego to a few dozen people at the Soda Bar. Just a couple months later, the band was all over alternative and Top 40 radio stations with "Pumped Up Kicks" and have since sold out venues in town like the House of Blues and even SOMA. The band is back now with a sophomore release, and I respect their tour routing for hitting the Belly Up instead of larger venues they probably could've filled quite handily, because it means they're taking the time to work the new material so it can become as ubiquitous as that first album. Their show is sold out, but given their past trajectory, I'm confident in saying that if you don't have tickets for the show, they'll probably be back before you know it.
