When I was a senior in high school, there were two albums that mattered to me and my friends: "August and Everything After" by Counting Crows and the self-titled album by Candlebox. My music tastes have mostly evolved since then, but I still felt a little twinge in my heart when I saw that Candlebox is still touring and playing a show at Ramona Mainstage. For nostalgia's sake, it might just be worth the drive. But of course, there are some great shows tonight, including another free Seaport Sessions with a couple Redwoods bands we love; the Bird and the Bee will play to a sold out crowd at the Casbah, hopefully mixing their originals along with their tributes to Hall & Oates and Van Halen; self-proclaimed "folktronica" performer Ryley Walker plays Soda Bar; and Bar Pink has a sick lineup with the Kabbs and the Havnauts.
