Season Pass Deals for Socal Skiers, Snowboarders

Take advantage of some season pass deals while you can

Southern California residents have the good fortunate of being able to go from the surf to the snow in a matter of hours. While it may be blue skies and beautiful in San Diego right now, staffers at the closest ski resorts are preparing for snow and crowds. Right now, there are several season pass deals you can take advantage of before the ski reports start making the news.


Mammoth Mountain is the most expensive of the bunch but with no blackout dates, there is an advantage to owning the Mammoth Value Pass.

If you're considering the $799 price tag, you'll want to act fast. The price jumps $200 on Nov. 11.

Pass holders enjoy unlimited use of Mammoth and June Mountains, five mornings of early access to the mountain and four discounted lift tickets for friends.

Prices for teens, kids and seniors vary. Mammoth Mountain is located approximately 400 miles from San Diego.

The People's Park

At Bear Mountain, season passes are discounted until Dec. 8 and are good for Snow Summit as well. However, the resorts do have holiday blackout dates.

Snowboarders and skiers can purchase an Anytime pass for $659. Those who choose to wait will pay about $150 more after Dec. 8.

Opt for a Midweek pass and you’ll pay significantly less - $329 if purchased before Dec. 8.
The resorts are located approximately 150 miles from San Diego.

Socal's Closest Winter Resort

Mountain High is offering a deal for its season pass that they say will pay for itself after five visits.Buy before Dec. 20 or whiles supplies last and save 50-percent.

Prices start at $349 for adults and $229 for kids ages 7 to 12. Children 6 and can get a free season pass when an adult season pass is purchased.

For $50 more, snowboarders and skiers can join as a VIP and snag free tickets to visit three other resorts on the mountain's Powder Alliance. There are some restrictions so check the resort’s website for details.

Backyard Option

Mt Baldy is 130 miles north of San Diego and offers the least expensive season pass with parking included. No need for reservations or time wasted in ticketing lines. Adults pay $275 for the season. Young adults get access all winter for $199.

If you’re looking for a better deal, the 2013/14 Virtual Season Pass offers unlimited skiing and snowboarding with online reservations at $59 for first-time buyers and $89 for mid-week passes.
