SAN FRANCISCO, CA - SEPTEMBER 07: Shigeru Miyamoto, creative fellow at Nintendo and creator of Super Mario, speaks on stage during an Apple launch event on September 7, 2016 in San Francisco, California.

For decades, video game players have flocked to anything associated with the famed Super Mario.

Now, players will get a chance to get the portly plumber safely through each level even when they aren’t near a Nintendo video game system.

“Super Mario Run” debuted Thursday on Apple iOS devices. They will make their debut on Android devices early next year.  The game will allow users to tap on their phone as Mario goes level to level, helping him jump over objects and enemies while collecting those classic coins.

The game does have a couple catches for prospective users. You must be connected to the internet whenever you are playing and only a trial version of the game is free – the full version will cost you $10.
