Megan Tevrizian is thrilled to be working in her hometown of San Diego. You can see her anchoring NBC7 News Today every Saturday and Sunday morning. Megan also reports during the weekday afternoon broadcasts.
Megan has covered a wide range of stories around San Diego, including Comic Con, the resignation of former Mayor Bob Filner, and the kidnapping of Hannah Anderson. She has filed a series of reports involving the severely mentally ill, which led up to the County’s implementation of Laura’s Law. Megan is a big supporter of Special Olympics, and some of her most popular stories have been about athletes she’s met through volunteering at the organization.
Before joining NBC7, Megan was an entertainment reporter for TV Guide Network in Los Angeles. In addition to covering red carpet premieres, she secured interviews with celebrities such as Tom Cruise, Jennifer Aniston and Taylor Swift. Some notable stories she covered while working in Los Angeles include the death of Michael Jackson and the Tiger Woods infidelity scandal.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Megan was a news anchor and general assignment reporter in Utah where her beat included covering the polygamist twin cities of Colorado City and Hildale. She started her career in journalism at the FOX News Channel in New York as a segment producer for the morning show FOX & Friends.
Megan graduated from the University of St. Andrews, in Scotland, with a master’s degree in business. She is a graduate of Torrey Pines High School.
