Ziggy Shuffledust headline Casbah on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

If you were out of town during the holidays or otherwise missed Ziggy Shuffledust & the Spiders From Mars, or you're just such a fan that you must experience the fun all over again, head to the Casbah for a free show to honor and celebrate the legendary musician who passed early last year. I imagine the set might not be quite as long, but that's because Ariel Levine will be playing a whole album opening set. Around town, Subsurfer headline Soda Bar, Grammy winner Bill Champlin plays the Belly Up and Gary Wilson gets weird with the kids at Che Cafe.

    Tuesday, Jan. 8:

    • David Bowie Birthday Bash with Ziggy Shuffledust & the Spiders From Mars, Ariel Levine playing "Station to Station," Funky Thigh Collectors @ Casbah (free)
    • Subsurfer, Project Analogue @ Soda Bar
