Formed in the summer of ‘69 in San Jose, Calif., the Doobie Brothers have reclaimed a place on the charts -- and in the ears of critics -- with the enduring band’s 13th album, World Gone Crazy, which was produced over the course of three years by legendary producer Ted Templeman.
The Doobie Brothers' current lineup includes founding members Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, and longtime collaborators John McFee and Michael Hossack. Additionally, former member Michael McDonald made a guest appearance on the critically acclaimed record, which features the single "Nobody" -- a "new" old song (1970) re-recorded for the new album:
"We appreciate it because we have a lot of friends in this business who have fallen on some hard times, and here we are out still making a living playing and having fun," Simmons said.
Performing Saturday, Dec. 5, at the historic Spreckels Theater, the Doobie Brothers will be sharing the stage with Altanta-based singer/songwriter Shawn Mullins at the KPRi Holiday Soiree.
