Sounds Like San Diego: Oct. 14

Rob Crow's Goblin Cock at the Casbah

I'm always ready for a good weekend, but sometimes live music can be intense, or provoking, or kind of mellow. This weekend is pretty much just fun. I don't know how else to explain it, but take your pick on any number of shows tonight, and you should just be able to let loose, drop the hipster thing, and just have fun. At the Casbah, Rob Crow rounds up Goblin Cock for their first show in ages, and the Helio Sequence return to San Diego bringing a blast from the early Oughts. The Purple Party tribute to Prince is going on at Music Box, Danny Brown is in town to get silly at the Observatory and particularly exciting is Pussy Galore revived with a night at Blonde. One super special standout tonight, however, is Matt Haeck at Grassroots Oasis. He'll also be playing tomorrow night at another venue, but Matt is a special friend -- a former San Diegan -- who moved on to Austin, then Nashville, and is finally getting some of the attention he deserves, so this will definitely be an extra special homecoming. Whatever you choose, let fun lead the way.
