Thursday is a great night for music in San Diego. For some local singer/songwriter action, catch Josh Damigo at Lestat's or Gayle Skidmore at the Merrow. For some nostalgic punk, Kid Congo performs at the Casbah. If the name is unfamiliar, certainly your familiar with his other bands, like the Gun Club, the Cramps and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Tim Pyles hosts Mary Jane's Underground at the Hard Rock Hotel with Ed Ghost Tucker, and R&B lovers can get down at Valley View Casino Center with Peaches and Herb and others. My favorite show of the night is Augustines, the Brooklyn band that is just what you're looking for if you're a fan of Springsteen's brand of gritty Americana rock& roll.
