Satisfy Your Primus Urges

Primus head up the weekend picks by 91x's beloved radio DJ, Robin Roth

    Satisfy Your Primus Urges
Primus headlines the California Center for the Arts Escondido Saturday.

It's party time Friday night as SoundDiego LIVE hits U-31 with Mariachi El Bronx, Pounded by the Surf and Shady Francos. I’ll be hosting the festivities -- you'll need to be on the list to get in, and even then you will want to get there early to get in.

Elsewhere, the Woggles, the Rosalyns, the Diddley Daddies and DJ Tony the Tyger are at Til-Two; the Movember Moustache Party is in the East Village; Minus the Bear plays a sold-out show at the Casbah; Kevin Morby, the Paragraphs and Le Ra are at Soda Bar; The White Buffalo headline the Belly Up for a sold-out show; and the 1975 is at SOMA for a sold-out concert. You can get your dance on with F**king in the Bushes and DJs Rob Moran and Daniel Sant at the Whistle Stop; Datsik at Bassmnt; Talib Kweli's DJ set at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Club 207; Metrika at the Hideout; Goddollars takes over Vin De Syrah; and Tropicool hits Bang Bang.

Start off your Saturday with the Flaggs in-store EP release party at M-Theory Records. Later that night, Club Sabbat at Numb3rs takes over the front room with DJs Liquid Grey and Diskdroid; Adrian Lux and Rebecca & Fiona take over Bassmnt; Booty Bassment is at the Whistle Stop; Bass Tribe takes over the Kava Lounge; and Treasure Fingers hits Bang Bang. Get your live music fix with Primus at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido; Ed Ghost Tucker hosts their debut EP release show at Soda Bar with Beginners and Nicky Venus; Michael Franti has a sold-out acoustic show at the Belly Up; Radios Silent, Them Guns and the Slashes are at the Tin Can; Punch Card and Just In Case take over Pier View Pub; and Love Revisited, the Loons and Bunnynose play at the Casbah.

Sunday, Capital Cities, Sneaky Sound System and Night Terrors of 1927 are at House of Blues; Hobo Torch, Neveready and Satellite Sky take over the Casbah; and Tim Flannery and the Lunatic Fringe headlines at the Belly Up.

Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
