All Aboard Megadeth's Metal Megacruise

The five-day, five-night heavy metal music festival at sea features Megadeth, Anthrax and more

All hands on deck for the pleasure cruise of a lifetime. From Oct. 13-18, 2019, Megacruise will be sailing from the port of Los Angeles, San Pedro, to San Diego and Ensenada, Mexico.

It's not just a Megadeth-sponsored luxury excursion -- it's a five-day, five-night heavy metal music festival at sea featuring Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, Dragonforce and more.

Aside from performances, guests can also enjoy photo ops and Q&As with artists; beer tasting; guitar, bass and drum clinics; morning jams; a charity auction; themed nights; recreational tournaments and whatever other brutally fun festivities Dave Mustaine and crew can cook up.

Mustaine formed Megadeth in 1983 following his dismissal from Metallica. True metalheads, of course, already knew that. But some might be surprised to know that he grew up in La Mesa and, until recently, had an estate in Fallbrook, making this local cruise extra special.

It will certainly cost a pretty penny, but that's to be expected with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Note that the bigger the group you have, the cheaper rooms are. Also note that a lot of rooms are understandably sold out already.

Megadeth's Megacruise ships off Oct. 13-18, 2019. You can still buy tickets here.
