Oh, man. I love J Mascis so much and it should be no surprise to fans of the Dinosaur Jr. frontman that his Soda Bar show has been sold out for quite some time. His solo work won't be deafening, instead, his latest efforts have really been able to shine a light on his songwriting and lyrics. If you didn't score tickets, there are a bunch of rad shows, like an all-ages concert with Michigan post-hardcore act La Dispute, or Irish rockers Kodaline at House of Blues. Pyles and his 91x Loudspeaker crew continue to celebrate their 30-year anniversary with a solid local lineup at the Casbah featuring Shane Hall, rapper Kyle is at the Observatory North Park, and Grammy nominee Pablo Ziegler performs with his trio at the San Diego Center for Jewish Culture.
