Locals Only: Local singer-songwriters Michael Tiernan and Lee Coulter will join The Michael Tiernan Trio and George Wit at the Belly Up in Solana Beach for the return of the New Acoustic Generation concert series. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $8.00 and can be purchased online.

Brain Pacemakers: Experts discuss the questions behind electrical brain stimulation as part of the Ruben H. Fleet Science Center's ongoing series, Exploring Ethics. The discussion will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and it’s free provided that you register through the museum’s Web site.

Screamin’ Primas: This Louis Prima tribute band combines elements of big band, rhythm and blues and Dixieland jazz to pay homage to the legendary performer at the California Center for the Arts-Escondido . See Web site for tickets. Performances at 4 and 7 p.m.
