The U.S. Fed Cup team that takes on Italy next month at the Sports Arena will feature a local player.
Rancho Sante Fe's CoCo Vandeweghe has been named to the United States team.
CoCo is all of 18 years old.
She's had a good year going from being ranked at 322 in the world to 115.
Injuries to the Williams' sisters opened a spot for Vandeweghe.
She joins Bethanie Mattek-Sands, Melanie Oudin and Liezel Huber.
Italy is the defending champ. The U.S. hasn't won the Fed Cup in ten years.
