San Diego Padres fans used social media to share their excitement during what could've been an historic game for the Friars.
Leadoff hitter Will Venable needed a home run to become the first Padre to hit for a cycle. Alas, he fell short after hitting a single, double and triple early in the game.
He struck out in the sixth inning, and then had an RBI single in the eighth inning.
