University Heights Apt. Fire Causes $125K in Damage

Blaze reported at 4605 Campus Avenue and Madison Avenue on Saturday morning

A two-story apartment fire in University Heights caused over $100,00 in damage and displaced three people early Saturday morning.

The blaze was reported around 12:29 a.m. inside an partment complex at 4605 Campus Avenue and Madison Avenue, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue dispatcher.

The fire was located on the first and second floor and heavy smoke could be seen in both areas.

The building was evacuated and crews extinguished the flames by 1 a.m.

No one was injured, but the fire caused an estimated $100,000 in property damage and $25,000 in damage to content, the dispatcher said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
