2 Injured After SUV Rolls Over, Slams Into Trees

One person was seriously injured when a speeding SUV spiraled out of control and collided into several trees along Mar Vista Drive just before midnight Friday.

The driver and passenger were both taken to the hospital, but the passenger was more seriously injured, officials with the Sheriff's Department said.

According to a news release, a Toyota RAV4 was driving at a high speed on Thibodo Road. The vehicle rolled and crashed into trees along Mar Vista Drive around 11:54 p.m. Friday.

Alcohol did play a suspected role in the accident, officials said. A Sheriff's Department watch commander said there has not yet been any arrests or DUI charges as a result of the crash.

The names of the driver and passenger have not been released.
