Tierrasanta Woman's Attack a Hoax: Cops

After investigating the scene, detectives determined the assault Friday "did not occur"

A Tierrasanta woman's claim she was attacked in her own apartment overnight did not happen according to San Diego police investigators.

Officers were called to one of the units in the El Dorado Hills Apartment Complex around 2 a.m. Friday after a woman said a man forced himself into her apartment.

The woman told police her Doberman mix Damian jumped in to save her from the attack.

The woman didn't suffer any visible injuries police said but she went to the hospital to get checked out.

Several hours later, police issued a release saying "Sex Crimes Unit detectives and laboratory personnel conducted a thorough and diligent investigation" but that it appeared the assault did not occur.
