A woman found guilty of having sex with a 15-year-old student at Reflections Central School was sentenced on Thursday.

Chrystina Delrosario
, 25, will have to register as a sex offender and could receive up to one year in prison. However, if she does not misbehave after a year of probation her sentence could be waived and her status as a sex offender will be revoked.

Should Delrosario successfully complete two years of probation, she also has the option to petition the court of dropping the charges to misdemeanors.

Last year, police said school officials heard a rumor that she had sex with a 15-year-old student on school grounds and asked authorities to investigate. Delrosario was arrested on July 18, 2012 and was placed on unpaid leave.

Neighbors in Delrosario's El Cajon neighborhood told NBC 7 San Diego last year the accusations were uncharacteristic of Delrosario, saying she was happily married for years when she moved there.

Delrosario was ultimately found guilty of performing a lewd act on a minor. It was also revealed Thursday that she is pregnant, but not with the student’s child.
