    A mylar balloon collided with power lines in Del Cerro early Monday morning, igniting a small brush fire that threatened three homes, fire officials said.

    A mylar balloon collided with power lines in Del Cerro early Monday morning, igniting a small brush fire that threatened three homes, fire officials said. 

    The fire broke out around 9:50 a.m. on the 6900 block of Elaine Way, off Lake Murray. 

    Crews quickly quelled the flames and contained the blaze. 

    One chopper made water drops, and all other air support was canceled. 

    More than 1,200 were left without power in the area after the power lines were struck. The power is estimated to be restored at 12:30 p.m. 

    No homes were damaged.
