A SeaWorld employee was injured Tuesday while conducting maintenance work on a ride in the park, officials said.

A SeaWorld spokesperson said the employee was a mechanic working on the Wild Arctic ride system.

At about 7 a.m. Tuesday, the mechanic was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The spokesperson did not disclose the specifics of the injuries.

The ride uses a motion-based simulator. That part of the ride was closed Tuesday. The non-motion based ride was not effected and remained open.

The state's safety and health department was notified of the injury.
