SDSU Basketball Player Arrested

Star guard was arrested over the weekend for investigation of DUI

San Diego State guard Jamaal Franklin was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol over the weekend, according to SDSU police Capt. Lamine Secka.

The athletic department is gathering more information from the incident.

Franklin averaged 2.9 points and 8.1 minutes last season when the Aztecs went 34-3 and reached the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament. He was expected to get significantly more playing time this season as the team lost four of its five starters.

The first game of the season is Nov. 11.
