New Parking Lot Open at Lindbergh Field

Partial reopening of short-term parking two months ahead of schedule

Lindbergh Field's terminal 2 opened a temporary parking lot Friday -- the first of several improvements to the busy area.

About 700 spaces are now available for travelers and greeters at the airport at hourly and daily rates, airport officials announced Friday.

The cost to park there, either to pick up a loved one or to drive yourself to the airport, is the same as terminal 1 -- $4 per hour and $28 per day.

The lot opened Friday two months ahead of schedule, and is on par with the environmentally friendly focus of the airport's renovations.

The first 700 people to park there will get a special discounted rate.

The airport's Green Build renovations are expected to finish in about a year.
