Military spouses enjoyed a day of relaxation and pampering on Thursday, thanks to a Poway beauty school.
"Today we celebrate the military," said Lynelle Lynch, the owner and president of Bellus Academy on Thursday. "We want to really thank them for their service and their spouses' service."
Spouses got haircuts, manicures, rejuvenating light sessions and more.
"As a spouse and a family readiness officer, I just see a real need to stop and feel pampered and just emotionally say, 'OK, this is about me,' " said Brooke Spitzer, who works for family readiness at Miramar.
The spa is also kicking off its scholarship program -- up to $5,000 for each new student.
