A man armed with a gun and wearing a fedora robbed a bank in Escondido Wednesday morning, police said.

According to the Escondido Police Department, the suspect entered the US Bank on East Valley Parkway just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

He was armed with a gun when he demanded money from the bank's teller. He took off with an unknown amount.

Police arrived moments later, but did not catch the suspect. They believe he fled in a white Ford Ranger pickup truck.

The suspect is described as an older man between 6-feet-tall and about 140 pounds. He was wearing a tan fedora hat, brown jacket and was carrying a brown bag.

The Escondido Police Department is working with the FBI to locate the suspect.
