Man Used Gun, Painted on Mustache in Robbery

A robbery suspect tried to avoid detection by using makeup to paint on a mustache officials said.

The man held up a clerk inside the Junior Liquor Mart at Diane Avenue and Clairemont Mesa Boulevard around noon Friday.

The clerk told police a man, described as white or Hispanic, shopped for a bit and asked some questions before showing a gun and robbing the store.

San Diego police Lt. Joe Ramos said the suspect wore all red clothing and used black makeup to make it look like he had facial hair.

The suspect was also described as about 5’10” and 165 pounds.
