MTS Shooter's Family is ‘Truly Sorry'

The family of a man investigators say gunned down two co-workers at the East Village MTS bus depot has released a public statement.

"We would like to express our deepest condolences to all those affected by this tragedy.  Our hearts and prayers go out the victims and their families. We do not know why this tragedy occurred early Tuesday morning, and we are all truly sorry," the statement said.

Lonnie Glasco opened fire early Tuesday morning, killing co-workers Benjamin Mwangi and Michael Stevenson, police said.

The gunman was shot and killed by officers when he refused to drop his gun.

There is no evidence of any conflicts between the three men, investigators said.

Glasco lived with his parents after losing his home in a bitter divorce.
