Passenger Tries to Jump from SUV in Police Pursuit

The man was dragged down the road before he was able to crawl back inside the SUV, police said.

An out-of-control SUV slammed into a building Monday in San Diego, striking a parked car and snapping a power line.

The force of a collision between the SUV and a nearby car snapped the power line near 26th Street and between Imperial and Commercial in the Grant Hill neighborhood.

San Diego Police say the driver of the gray GMC refused to pull over for officers around midnight.

A passenger in the back seat attempted to jump out of the SUV but his clothes caught on the vehicle. The man was dragged down the road before he was able to crawl back inside the SUV, police said.

The driver and the passenger were taken to a nearby hospital for undisclosed injuries.

Officers say the passenger was wanted on a felony warrant.

In the end, two men and one woman were arrested, police said.

After several hours, San Diego Gas and Electric crews restored power to the block.
