The area included in the warning includes but is not limited to Pauma Valley. Nearly 11,000 customers in Escondido experienced a power outage after lightning possibly struck down in the area.

The NWS issued the warning at about 2:30 p.m. It is in effect until 4:15 p.m.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall in the area will likely cause flooding of small creeks and streams and county roads.
