Woman Found Dead Off Sunset Cliffs

People who knew a woman who apparently fell to her death in Sunset Cliffs over the weekend are mourning her untimely loss.

The body of San Diego resident Kristan Stephanie Wagner, 41, was spotted Sunday by a passerby on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard and Carmelo Street in Ocean Beach. Understandably, her family is traumatized by their loss.

"No trouble, full of life, and she was so happy, and she was a very good girl," the victim's father, Robert Wagner, told KFMB. "Just lovely."

Her mom, Marie Wagner, told the San Diego Union-Tribune that her daughter had a big heart.

“She didn't need a fancy car or a fancy house," Marie said. "She was a simple girl with a big heart who loved life and loved the people around her.”

Wagner's body was found 60 to 70 feet below the street.  The County Medical Examiner estimated the time of death at 1:40 p.m., similar to the time the body was discovered. They determined she died from multiple blunt force injuries.

Services for Wagner will held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Old Town. No time has yet been set.

People walking the cliffs commonly walk the west side of the rail to avoid cars, and there is basically enough cliff's edge to do so. But there is risk; the cliff is not solid rock, and after rain the risk of edge collapse is higher. If you have ever walked the cliff, you know there is not much margi ... MORE >
