Power Restored in East County

Initially, the outage left approximately 3,200 customers without power across several communities

Power has been fully restored to residents in several East County communities after an outage left thousands without power Saturday morning, San Diego Gas & Electric officials confirmed.

The power outage began around 9:35 a.m. and initially impacted approximately 3,200 SDG&E customers in parts of Santee, El Cajon, Fletcher Hills and Carlton Hills.

By 10:30 a.m., power had been restored to the majority of customers with the exception of about 440 customers in parts of Santee and Carlton Hills. By 11:30 a.m., power was fully restored to all residents impacted by the outage, officials said.

SDG&E officials say they’re still investigation the cause of the outage.
