Power has been fully restored to residents in several East County communities after an outage left thousands without power Saturday morning, San Diego Gas & Electric officials confirmed.

The power outage began around 9:35 a.m. and initially impacted approximately 3,200 SDG&E customers in parts of Santee, El Cajon, Fletcher Hills and Carlton Hills.

By 10:30 a.m., power had been restored to the majority of customers with the exception of about 440 customers in parts of Santee and Carlton Hills. By 11:30 a.m., power was fully restored to all residents impacted by the outage, officials said.

SDG&E officials say they’re still investigation the cause of the outage.
