Police took two children into custody after a brush fire started in Scripps Ranch Monday.

Officials said the kids were playing with bottle rockets.

The fire started around 6:20 p.m. at Stonebridge Parkway and Big Canyon Lane.

Firefighters surrounded the perimeter, and a helicopter made drops. Crews extinguished the fire quickly.

Officials said no homes were threatened, but aerial pictures showed some kind of construction nearby. No one was hurt.
