Army specialist Tim Senkowski, of Vista, got a very special salute to service on Sunday.
The Chargers fan and his son were guests of "Operation Warrior Wishes," which sends a wounded veteran to a game in every NFL stadium.
He lost both of his legs and suffered other injuries in Afghanistan, after an fellow soldier accidentally stepped on an IED. Before the big win, Senkowski said he was honored to be at the game in Cincinnati.
“Going to all these stadiums and doing this with all these soldiers, just making these soldiers happy, I mean, it’s incredible,” he said. “And I’m glad to be a part of it.”
Operation Warrior Wishes was started by two brothers. Their goal is to have a wounded veteran at every NFL stadium for every week of the season.
