A 96-year-old woman was struck after she stepped in front of a car in Hillcrest Wednesday.

The woman was hit by a man who turned left from Walnut St. to northbound 5th St. at about 9:30 p.m. The man was looking right and waiting for traffic to clear when he pulled out and struck the woman, according to the San Diego Police Department.

She was transported to the hospital with a fractured arm and hip.

The local traffic division of the SDPD is currently handling the investigation.
