4-Year-Old Girl Reports Daycare Molestation
Victim's older brothers also allege "inappropriate touching"
A Shelltown daycare provider’s husband was arrested Wednesday afternoon after a 4-year-old girl reported to her parents the man molested her, San Diego police said.
Hector Herrera, 52, was arrested about 2:30 p.m. after allegedly molesting the victim at the Shining Stars Daycare at 3963 Boston Ave.
The victim’s two older brothers, ages 6 and 8, also reported Herrera committed “inappropriate touching” against them, San Diego police aid.
Herrera was booked into county jail for Lewd Acts with a Child under 14 of age.
The Community Care Licensing Division of the California Department of Social Services , which monitors child care services, has shut down Shining Stars Daycare indefinitely while it undergoes an investigation.
The daycare was run out of a house.
Police child abuse detectives are continuing their investigation and will hold a 2 p.m. media conference.
